sunday we left LA to head up to Ojai with mad and max. Max took us to where he works which just happens to be a Tortoise Sanctuary surrounded by an Avocado/Orange orchard!
all these orange and avocado tree's are never harvested. they almost ALL go to waste out here.
max cuts open one of the giant avo's. and you know how we feel bout avo's.

here's a baby pickle-shaped one. BUT, it doesn't even have a pit yet.

more oranges then we've ever seen in our whole lives.
and all of them are super juicy.
we must of stocked 20 or so in the car.
max shows us all around the sanctuary and all the different turtles he works with. over 200.

we also saw some turtle sex. (pictures too graphic for this pg-13 blog)
the sanctuary has the biggest succulents ever, trees and flowers all over, some of the coolest old scientific illustrated posters and a pool. its not just a turtle sanctuary. its a huuuuuman sanctuary.
